DOACs (rivaroxaban, apixaban): equal or superior efficacy to warfarin with 50% reduction in major bleeding; catheter-directed thrombolysis for large DVT: rapid thrombus resolution but unclear long-term benefit on PTS (ATTRACT trial); acute massive PE with hemodynamic compromise: systemic thrombolysis reduces mortality 55-65%
